10 th Annual Soup Night

The location has been moved to the Unitarian Society [http://www.usnh.org/] (700 Hartford Turnpike, Hamden). The date for this event remains Sunday, April 2. Tickets will be available at the door.

Emergency Food Council

D.E.S.K. will host the February meeting of the Emergency Food Council on Tuesday, February 14, at 9:00 a.m. (311 Temple St).

Slifka Schedule

D.E.S.K. will be serving Sunday evening meals at the Slifka Center on February 12, 19, and 26*; March 19 and 26*; April 2 and 30*; and May 7. (Serving will start slightly later than normal on starred dates.)

D.E.S.K.'s Cook's Tour

D.E.S.K.’ s Cook’s Tour with The Practitioners of the Gold Building took place Thursday, Febrauary 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the D.E.S.K. kitchen/pantry (311 Temple St) . It was a wonderful event!

December Statistics

1,695 individuals served ; 2,183 evening meals ; 380 bag lunches ; 235 food pantry bags.

Thank you to Scott McLean and First & Summerfield Church members for serving evening meals on Tuesday nights every month.

D.E.S.K. would like to thank the members of North Haven Congregational Church who continue to prepare the entire evening meal every other Thursday.

Painting the Cupboards

In March, students from the Maroon Key Club of Hopkins School will paint the D.E.S.K. kitchen cupboards (311 Temple St). The group, headed by Co-Chairs Heidi Rofuth and Katie Wallace-Hodel, will also paint the pantry entryway on March 4.
